Fleetwood Mac - B-Sides & Non-Album Singles

The picture above has absolutely nothing to do with this post, but it is a good picture and features two of my favourite people (Stevie and Rick).

The actual purpose of this post is because I received a request via a comment posted on this blog for Lizard People, a rather weird and obscure track from the Behind The Mask album.

I decided to put up all of the non-album B-Sides that I had. Thanks to http://www.buckinghamnicks.net/ and my usual contributor John for these tracks.

The first two tracks are from the post-Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac, featuring Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer. I did think long and hard about making these into a file on their own, but then stopped thinking about it and just put everything in the one file.

Dragonfly and Purple Dancer are two of the better songs that came out of that era of FM, sadly never to make it to a studio album. They were released as a single in 1971.

The rest of the tracks are from the Rumours era and (in the case of Lizard People) post-Rumours FM.

1 - Dragonfly (1971)
2 - Purple Dancer (1971)
3 - Cool Water (1982)
4 - Down Endless Street (1987)
5 - You and I Part I (1987)
6 - Book of Miracles (1987)
7 - Ricky (1987)
8 - Lizard People (1990)
9 - Thrown Down (Single Mix 2003?)

My condensed review is as follows:

1 - Fantastic
2 - Fantastic
3 - What the hell was Lindsey thinking?
4 - Usual Lindsey stuff if you like it
5 - See No. 4
6 - Instrumental track which was meant for the track Juliet which never made it onto Tango In The Night Album. Juliet would appear on Stevie's The Other Side of the Mirror album but didn't really sound like this.
7 - Kind of like No. 4 & No.5 but not as listenable
8 - WTF?
9 - Somewhat better than the album version in parts. Too much music in the background though...

So having said all of that, here is the file, feel free to let me know what you think of the tracks.

Clifford Davis with Fleetwood Mac & Aynsley Dunbar's Retaliation with Peter Green

I received an email a few days ago from a guy called Dave seeking a few Fleetwood Mac related tracks. After speaking to my friend John, I obtained the tracks and have added them up on here for those who want them.

Now, lets be honest, these tracks are getting pretty obscure, so unless you are a big Peter Green/Fleetwood Mac fan, you aren't probably going to find them very interesting.

These songs are taken from three separate sources:

  1. Clifford Davis (with Fleetwood Mac) 7" Single from 1969
    A Side: 'Before the Beginning'
B Side: 'Man of the World'

  2. Clifford Davis (with Fleetwood Mac) 7" Single from 1970
A Side: 'Come on Down and Follow Me'
    B Side: 'Homework'

  3. 'Stone Crazy ' Aynsley Dunbar's Retaliation from 1967
(featuring Peter Green, Jack Bruce & Rod Stewart and of course Aynsley Dunbar)
This song was not released at the time, but released in 1973 on "History of British Blues"

Now I know that this does seem like I've mixed these up a little, with 'Stone Crazy' only featuring Peter, but it seemed pointless to just upload one track by itself.

I've heard someone suggest that Come on Down and Follow Me doesn't sound like Fleetwood Mac members playing the instruments at all, but I've not been able to find anything definitive on that. Let me know your opinion!
