These .rar files can be unzipped by using WINRAR or a similar program. WINRAR can be downloaded from various sites around the net. If you are unable to get WINRAR to work on your computer and you are desperate to download a particular album then let me know. I will try to create a .zip file for you if I have the time (and if you ask nicely!).

Stevie Nicks - Various tracks (Backing Vocals, B-Sides, Soundtracks, etc)

A few days ago I decided that I would start looking for tracks that Stevie had sung backup on, and perhaps a few tracks that I didn't have in my collection such as B-sides, songs contributed to soundtracks, etc.

To collate this list I had to surf around the internet, dig through my CD collection and of course get my regular contributor John to supply what I couldn't find. It wasn't the easiest thing to do, but I think I ended up with a reasonably comprehensive list of Stevie Nicks related songs.

Now I don't say for one moment that this is a complete list. Firstly there are all of the demos that I generally don't touch. There are a lot of demo related sites around the net, and lots of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks related bootlegs. Generally I'm only interested in the legally released stuff. Secondly Stevie has appeared on stage with various people, so there are songs floating around of her with Sheryl Crow, Lindsey Buckingham, Bob Welch etc. Once again, I'm not even going to start looking at those songs.

In fact, in the list below only one of the songs is a bootleg of a live song "I Need To Know". I've included that song simply because I really like Stevie singing it. A few of these songs have appeared on Stevie's box-set "The Enchanted Works of Stevie Nicks". I thought about not adding them to the list, but as they are often from soundtracks or B-sides, then the list wouldn't be complete without them. Naturally there are also duplicates where I have uploaded to the blog the album that the song appears on.

To make it easier when you download these files I have listed as much information as I can such as Stevie's contribution (duet, backing vocals, etc), the main artist on the track (if not Stevie), the album the track is from and the year the track was released.

So, here they are, hopefully all correct. Please let me know if something is obviously missing!

Previously I had all of these files as individual downloads but it became a pain to keep track of which ones had been deleted off rapidshare, etc. So now they are all in two main files with a couple of individual downloads for mp3s that I added later.

The De Luxe Blues Band - Bob Brunning's De Luxe Blues Band

As I mentioned in a previous post, it was only when I was discussing The De Luxe Blues Band with my friend John that I realised that I didn't have this 1997 release which has long since vanished from commercial availability.

Ten of the tracks on this album are available on the compilation "Blues Amongst Friends" double CD, but the four remaining tracks are hard to come by. I thought about only uploading these four tracks but in the end I decided to upload the whole album as it isn't readily available. It was only ever sold through Brunning's website, and while that still exists it is so out of date it might as well not exist.

If you do like this music then I encourage you to go out and purchase the "Blues Amongst Friends" album and support the artist.

Oh and here is a picture of Bob Brunning just because I had one!

One more DLBB album to come - Street Car Named De Luxe which I shall post up in a few days.

Source: CD Rip (two different CD's)
Bitrate: Readily available tracks 192kbps, hard to find tracks 320kbps (different sources)
Further Info: Yeah good luck with that... ;-)

The De Luxe Blues Band - The De Luxe Blues Band

Continuing in our series of The De Luxe Blues Band albums, this one is from 1994. Once again sorry for posting them out of order, but I can only post them as they come available to me.

Some of the tracks on this album are currently available on the compilation album "Blues Amongst Friends" However, eight of the tracks off this album are not otherwise available. So, I've uploaded the complete CD for you.

Once again, thanks go to John for sending me the missing tracks. Every time I talk to him though I realise I'm missing just a little bit more of a piece from the Fleetwood Mac solo discography. Today I worked out that I'm missing the 1997 De Luxe Blues Band album, although I do have at least some of the tracks on the Blues Amongst Friends CD.

Of all the De Luxe Blues Band albums that I've heard so far, this is probably one of my favourites. They still don't quite stack up against Brunning Sunflower Blues Band, and the absence of Bob Hall's piano is noticeable here which takes away from the overall feel of the album.

The De Luxe Blues Band - Motorvating

This is the third in my series of five postings of the De Luxe Blues Band albums. Now this album isn't actually "hard" to find, although it certainly isn't regularly available nor is it necessarily cheap to obtain.

I hope that you will listen to this album provided for download, and then if you find that you like the album, you will make the effort to obtain a copy for yourself.

All I can say about this album is "poor sound quality and too much sax"

The De Luxe Blues Band - Urban De Luxe

I apologise in advance for not posting the De Luxe Blues Band albums in order, however my copies of Motorvating and Streetcar Named Deluxe are yet to arrive, so I've decided to post Urban Deluxe from 1983.

Personally I believe this is a major improvement to the album I posted last night (Live At The Half Moon, Putney). However, as always you can make up your own mind.

Once again this album comes to us courtesy of John who has contributed such classics as two Bob Weston albums (Night Light and Studio Picks), Brunning's earlier work with Five's Company (Ballad of Fred The Pixie) and Rick Vito as part of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers (No More Interviews).

Now if you read the review listed on the "further info" link below, you will notice that the reviewer says "the problem here is that the piano is too loud in the mix". Now personally one of the things I like about the albums that Brunning has been involved in has been the piano of his sidekick Bob Hall (pictured below). Take a listen to the Tramp albums, the Brunning Sunflower albums and you will see the common thread of the boogie-woogie piano of Bob Hall. So, in this instance, I don't agree with the review. Oh well, each to their own!

The De Luxe Blues Band - Live At The Half Moon, Putney

The problems with running a specialised music blog are obvious. Once you have posted up all of the albums relating to the subject at hand (in this case hard to find albums by members of Fleetwood Mac) you really can't keep posting up new stuff. Many of the other music blogs around just post up albums (readily available or otherwise) of a variety of artists with no real link between them, and hence they never run out of material to post.

I've noticed while checking out the site counter stats that every time I update this blog I get a spike in the number of visitors. This tends to be because several site (for example http://www.prognotfrog.com/) list updated music blogs. No update = no listing.

Now I am sure that there are people who visit who download everything I post, regardless of whether they like it or not. However, quite obviously, this blog is aimed at the fans of Fleetwood Mac. Hopefully has provided in the past few months the ability for Fleetwood Mac fans around the world to listen to albums that otherwise would have remained unheard.

Well we are running out of hard to find albums as you might well imagine, and I have resorted to offering a few albums with very limited links to Fleetwood Mac members.

Tonight that is going to change, at least for a few days. For tonight I have the first De Luxe Blues Band album - Live At The Half Moon, Putney from 1981. I don't think this album ever made it to CD, and comes to us courtesy of my friend John who has provided so much to this blog.

Without John we just wouldn't have so many of the albums that I have posted. John is a very serious collector, far more serious than I will ever be, and has many of these albums on vinyl. So, on behalf of everyone who has downloaded an album that John has provided, I send him a very big thank you!

The De Luxe Blues Band, of course, was the band that was formed by Bob Brunning and his sidekick Bob Hall. Bob Brunning was the first bass player in Fleetwood Mac, and has had one of the more prolific solo careers since leaving Fleetwood Mac. The De Luxe Blues Band replaced his previous band The Brunning Sunflower Blues Band.

I shall post other De Luxe Blues Band albums on here in the next couple of weeks...

Billy Burnette - Get An Education

Someone emailed me today asking about this song. Specifically they wanted the Mick Fleetwood's Zoo version, which exists on YouTube but in terrible sound quality.

Now I couldn't help but it got me thinking that maybe some of the Billy Burnette fans out there might appreciate the album version of this song.

Get An Education was featured on the "Summer School" soundtrack from 1987.

Now I've just discovered while posting this that to buy the Summer School soundtrack is going to cost you $109.00 on Amazon for a used copy. So, in the interests of doing the right thing by the readers of this blog, I've given you a link to just the Billy Burnette track (which is probably all the FM fans want) and also a link to the whole album for those who want it.

Oh and doesn't Mark Harmon look young? Compare the above picture with his character Leroy Jethro Gibbs (below) from the television series NCIS!

Fleetwood Mac - Fleetwood Mac Family Album

Even if you could walk into a store and purchase this album, there really isn't much on here worth spending the money on. Most of the songs can be found elsewhere on various solo albums by members of Fleetwood Mac.

However there are couple of worthwhile tracks, Respectable by the Cheynes (featuring Mick Fleetwood), and If You Wanna Be Happy by the Peter B's Looners (featuring Mick Fleetwood and Peter Green).

Other than that you have probably heard it all before (especially if you have been downloading stuff from this blog!).

Oh and this album is available secondhand for around US$20. Not worth it really is it?

The Kinetic - Love Your Life

You can tell we are really starting to struggle to find albums to put up on this site now can't you? We have run out of albums by the various members of FM that are hard to find, and hence we are looking for anything with a tentative FM related connection.

This album was released in 1967 and features Bob Weston on guitar. Bob as you might know, went on to join FM as a replacement for Danny Kirwan.

There's an interesting quote by someone writing a review about this album on the "further info" link below. "Don't fork out the money for the original LP before you've heard it. "

Oh well, I'll let you make up your own mind.

Danny Douma - Night Eyes

Personally I'd never heard of this album until a visitor to this blog sent it to me, but never mind, because now I have it I have added it on here for you.

In the absence of having anything to say about this guy or his album, I offer you the following from the All Music Guide.

"The guitarist, vocalist and chief songwriter of Southern California-based band, the Big Wha-Koo, in the late-1970s, Danny Douma released an impressive solo album, Night Eyes, in 1979. Although it featured the all-star accompaniment of Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Christine McVie on one tune, and Garth Hudson of the Band and Lindsay Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac on another, the album failed to generate much commercial interest. After touring with Fleetwood Mac, as a supporting act, for most of 1979, Douma faded into obscurity. Douma's innovative guitar playing and songwriting were essential to Big Wha-Koo's reputation as one of the spearheads of Los Angeles' rock scene. While Big Wha-Koo was fronted by vocalist David Palmer, who had sung lead on Steely Dan's 1972 debut album, Can't Buy A Thrill, Douma penned most of the group's repertoire." ~ Craig Harris, All Music Guide

So now you know. :-)

Our interest, or more specifically the interest of this blog is because the album features four of the FM lineup. Which makes you wonder, where the hell was Stevie Nicks when this album was being done? Back at home in her fairy castle?

For those of you who are interested "Hate You" features Mick, John and Christine with Eric Clapton, and Lindsey on "Beauty Has An Ache". Christine is also listed as "backing vocals" for the album - you can try to work out where.

Further random item of interest - Danny co-wrote with Todd Sharp the song "Who's Dreaming This Dream" which Christine sang on her second solo album.
