A week or so ago I received an email from a guy called Chris who was chasing up Todd Sharp's 1986 solo album "Who Am I". This wasn't an album that I had in my collection although I probably should have. The reason I should have owned it is that it features Christine McVie and Billy Burnette on backing vocals and additionally it appears to be out of print.
Somewhere in the recesses of my mind I knew I had seen a link for this album on the Ledge (where a section of the obsessed Fleetwood Mac community hang out). I went searching and sure enough it had been uploaded by Matt (Street Dreamer) some time ago. We have poached a couple of his links for this blog before, so Matt, thank you!
The other item of note with regards to this album is that it contains Todd's version of "I'm the One" which appears on Christine's solo album from 1984. He has also co-written a few songs with Christine and Billy Burnette for their solo albums, and has appeared on albums by Mick Fleetwood and Bob Welch as well. They may as well have made him an honorary FM member.
There are lots of people rave about this album but it is fair to say if it had been a classic it wouldn't be so hard to find. As far as I know it has never made it to CD release. Having said that, it is in a similar vein to the Billy Burnette albums from the same period. It wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination to think it was the lost Billy Burnette album.
