Bob Welch & Dave Mason - California Jam 2

When John sent me the Cal Jam 2 songs featuring in a previous post, he said that there was probably a bootleg of the entire set by both Dave Mason and Bob Welch floating around on the net.

While I don't normally do bootlegs, the curiosity got the better of me and I went looking. There is actually a six CD set of Cal Jam 2 that features Foreigner, Heart, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Santana and Mahogany Rush as well as our two Mac members. I read somewhere that there were only 300 CDs released (although I think it was probably a bootleg anyway).

Now if you want the entire Cal Jam 2 six CD set, then you can download it here:

If you don't care about Heart, Foreigner, etc then you can just download the DM & BW sets below.

Oh by the way, please don't blame me if "Danchiva" is titled "Dance of the Shebm" on Bob Welch's set. I didn't make the damn bootleg. I noticed on the track listing Dave's "Pearly Queen" was entitled "Dearly Queen" which I am pretty sure it isn't. :-) You might also notice that "So High (Rock Me Baby and Roll Me Away) is listed as "Rock The Baby" and "Let It Go, Let It Flow" is listed as "Let It Grow, Let It Flow". Personally I like the mis-titles they give a whole new meaning to Dave's songs. ;-)

I assume that the person that made the bootleg just listened to the tracks and guessed what the song titles were. You can obviously fix them up if you want. Like I said, I didn't create it...

Also please be aware that the sound quality isn't great. While it is a soundboard recording and therefore not bad, it is a bootleg of a live recording. Don't expect too much!

Great Blog!!

Lots of little known gems uncovered.

Since you've been bending your own no-bootleg rule recently, I'd love to see any Bob Welch era Mac shows, which seem painfully rare unfortunately.

Yes I'd love to see any of those too. If anyone has one, let me know.

Sadly as I don't do bootlegs I really don't have any.
