I noticed today that this album was available on Amazon for $80. After I stopped laughing I though I'd add a link on the blog.
Yes! So now I have my 10th version of "Feelin' Alright". Oh thats ten versions by Dave Mason. I've also got the version by Joe Cocker, but that's another story.
As I have said many times in this blog Dave Mason has spent his career doing 'best of' and 'live' collections, and after a while it just gets boring.
There are two things that stop me completely throwing this album against the wall in disgust. Firstly it is stored on my computer so to throw it against the wall would mean I have to throw the whole computer. The second thing is the version of "The Low Spark of the High Heeled Boys". The only decent song on the whole damn album! Actually the only redeeming feature of this album is Jim Capaldi.
For those people who have read my rant against Dave Mason before you'll know that I admire his guitar work, think he did a handful of good songs, and think his latest album (26 Letters, 12 Notes) is a great album. For those of you that haven't well now you know.
Be aware that the sound quality of this recording isn't that great for two reasons. The bitrate is only 160kbps (it was like that when I found it) and the sound quality wasn't that great to begin with.
Source: Internet Download from somewhere?
Bitrate: 160kbps
